How I Trust Him!

"'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, 'Thus saith the Lord!'

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I've proved Him o'er and o'er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!

I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
and I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end."

(~Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, lyrics by Louisa Stead)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." ~Proverbs 3:5-6

"Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
 Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior, all the day long."

(~Blessed Assurance, lyrics by Fanny Crosby)

We don't know tomorrow, and how if we let it, fear could grip us...but praise be to God, we are lost in His love...and that is such a wonderful place to be!!

The Lord Cannot Be Anything but Faithful...

"For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you." ~Isaiah 41:13
 "When a 'lion' comes to your life, recognize it as an opportunity from the Lord, no matter how fierce it may outwardly seem. Even the tabernacle of God was covered with badger skins and goat hair. No one would think there would be any glory there, yet the Shechinal glory of God was very evident underneath the covering. May the Lord open our eyes to see Him, even in...trials, dangers, and misfortunes." (Feb. 23, Streams in the Desert, by L.B. Cowman)
 Lord, when we feel overwhelmed with life, with trials that come our way, may we know that not a hair on our head will be touched in our lion's den, but that You in Your gracious goodness, have allowed it, for Your purposes and Your glory. May we simply be your faithful servants, come what may. Sustain us, reminding us ever to keep our eyes on You. These trials are a part of eternity's bigger picture, of much that we can't comprehend...but we know you are a trustworthy and faithful God, and that should be enough.
 "But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you...." 2 Thessalonians 3:3

Hope Thou in God...

"Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise Him." ~Psalm 42:5

"The tide may turn, the wind may change. New eras have been heard of before now!"
(- Springs in the Valley, Feb. 23, Mrs. Charles Cowman)

"In 'hope against hope,' I wait, Lord,
Faced by some fast-barred gate, Lord,
Hope never says 'Too late,' Lord,
Therefore in Thee I hope!

Hope though the night be long, Lord,
Hope of a glowing dawn, Lord,
Morning must break in song, Lord,
For we are 'saved by hope.'"
(~Hymn of Consecration and Faith)
 Lord, You know all our tomorrows...thank You that You are our Hope!

When Faith Will Be Sight...

"The longer I live under God's providence, the more readily I can trust Him, and the more patiently I can wait for that day when faith will be sight and all that which made no sense to my limited frame of reference will be made clear." ~Nancy Leigh DeMoss

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." ~Hebrews 11:1

The Simplicity of Christ...

"The simplicity which is in Christ is rarely found among us. In its stead are programs, methods, organizations and a world of nervous activities which occupy time and attention but can never satisfy the longing of the heart." ~A.W. Tozer

"Be still and know that I am God...." ~Psalm 46:10

Home by the Zigzag Path

"...He keeps close watch on all my paths." ~ Job 33:11

"We climbed the height by the zigzag path
And wondered why -- until
We understood it was made zigzag,
To break the force of the hill.

A road straight up would prove too steep
For the traveler's feet to tread;
The thought was kind in its wise design
Of a zigzag path instead.

It is often so in our daily life;
We fail to understand
That the twisting way our feet must tread
By Love alone was planned.

Then murmur not at the winding way
It is our Father's will
To lead us Home by the zigzag path,
To break the force of the hill." ~anon.

"Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom." ~ Isaiah 40:28

The Lord is in all our unknowns...

"The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” ~Deut. 31:8
I was reading in one of my devotional books this morning, Daily Seeds: From Women Who Walk in Faith. Here are a few wonderful excerpts from it about the unknowns the Lord oftentimes takes us into:

"I expect things to be a certain way and when they are not my natural response is sadness, anger, and fear. Yet God, in His mercy, is calling me to something better. He's calling me to Himself. He is calling me to reject the notion that my soul can be satisfied with what this world has to offer.

....God is always trying to pry my hands off of what I think gives me life and identity and worth. He wants me to cling to Him and the identity He gives to me.

What changes is the Lord bringing into your life? ....Ask the Lord, 'Give me Your peace to sit in the unknown.'  Let the unknowns drive you to Him and into His presence. He never changes. Take great delight and receive peace from the fact that He is going out before you and surrounds you on all sides. He longs for you to place your faith in Him and not the familiar."

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?" ~Isaiah 43:19
