The Greatest Answer Has Already Been Given...

Dear God, we are not our own...we know we were bought with a price...a very loving, gracious price that none of us could ever deserve...how great a gift is that! Yet you know our feeble frame, how very weak it is. Please help us to trust in this waiting time, remembering that however things work out in our lives, we are first and foremost here for Your glory and pleasure, and that the greatest Gift we could ever want has already been given us. Amen
"The Lord Jesus left His home in heaven, came down to this earth, and gave His life, not so we could live for ourselves and our pleasures, but so we could be free to live for the One whose pleasure we were created." ~A Heart at Rest flip calendar, 9/23, by Nancy Leigh DeMoss
"There are some prayers that are followed by a Divine silence because we are not yet ripe for all we have asked; there are others which are so followed because we are ripe for more. We do not always know the full strength of our own capacity; we have to be prepared for receiving greater blessings than we have ever dreamed of." ~George Matheson
"More prayer, more exercise of faith, more patient waiting, and the result will be blessing, abundant blessing. Thus I have found it many hundreds of times, and therefore I continually say to myself, 'Hope thou in God.'" ~George Muller
"Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him." ~Psalm 62:5

In God's Good Time...

"Delays are not refusals; many a prayer is registered, and underneath it the words: "My time is not yet come." God has a set time as well as a set purpose, and He who orders the bounds of our habitation orders also the time of our deliverance." ~Anonymous
“For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills” ~Psalm 50:10
"It is impossible for that man to despair who remembers that his Helper is omnipotent; and can do whatsoever He please. Let us rest there awhile, - He can, if He please: and He is infinitely loving, willing enough; and He is infinitely wise, choosing better for us than we can do for ourselves. God invites and cherishes the hopes of men by all the variety of His providence. He that believes does not make haste, but waits patiently, till the times of refreshment come, and dares trust God for the morrow, and is no more solicitous for the next year than he is for that which is past." ~Jeremy Taylor

In Him is Our Strength...

"God of our life, there are days when the burdens we carry chafe our shoulders and weigh us down; when the road seems dreary and endless, the skies grey and threatening; when our lives have no music in them, and our hearts are lonely, and our souls have lost their courage. Flood the path with light, run our eyes to where the skies are full of promise; tune our hearts to brave music; give us the sense of comradeship with heroes and saints of every age; and so quicken our spirits that we may be able to encourage the souls of all who journey with us on the road of life, to Your honour and glory." ~Augustine
"He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."
~Isaiah 40:29-31

Peace in the Hard Places...

"Loneliness comes over us sometimes as a sudden tide. It is one of the terms of our humanness, and, in a sense, therefore, incurable. Yet I have found peace in my loneliest times not only through acceptance of the situation, but through making it an offering to God, who can transfigure it into something for the good of others." ~Elisabeth Elliot
"Let this one great, gracious, glorious fact lie in your spirit until it permeates all your thoughts and makes you rejoice even though you are without strength. Rejoice that the Lord Jesus has become your strength and your song - He has become your salvation." ~Charles Haddon Spurgeon
"Then David said to Solomon his son, 'Be strong and courageous.... Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God...is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you....'" ~ 1 Chron. 28:20

If God Be There...

"A cottage will not hold the bulky furniture and sumptuous accommodations of a mansion; but if God be there, a cottage will hold as much happiness as might stock a palace." ~Dr. James Hamilton, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, 'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'” ~Hebrews 13:5
"But godliness with contentment is great gain." ~ 1 Tim. 6:6
